Part-Time College Student Program – Guidelines 2007
v Positions offered on 2nd shift only
v When school is in session, schedule is a minimum 20-hour per week schedule, minimum 4-hours daily, Monday-Friday, 3 PM until 7:20 PM or 7 PM until 11:20 PM. Work schedule to be determined upon receipt of school schedule. May work additional hours as allowed by school schedule. Will be included on the weekend work schedule. Upon notice to the Facilitator at the time the weekend work schedule is posted, schedule change requests may be accommodated when necessary.
v 40-Hour week, plus required overtime during the summer months
v Voluntary LOW (Lack-Of-Work) only offered as a benefit to full time employees. PT/College Program participants will be included in any “forced” LOW time periods.
v Schooling verification must be provided prior to start of school year.
v Same application process, post-offer physical & drug screening
v Same training as full-time manufacturing team members, running all machines
v Same attendance guidelines apply
v Same 60-day probationary period will apply
v Standing hourly wage to be entry-level, plus 2nd shift differential of .30 per hour. Hourly pay rate as of 2/15/07 is $9.00 per hour. Part-time employees are eligible to earn an additional .20 hourly increase under the “Perfect Attendance Award Program”
v Part-time employees not eligible for any benefits: Medical, Dental, Vacation, etc.
v If a part-time college participant changes their employment status to full time, they will follow all standard guidelines for receiving full time benefits, as of their full time start date. Change of employment status allowed once every six months.
v Part-time job openings for college students will be offered on an as-needed basis.
